Clean room for laminar flow operating room
Complete reconstruction of the operating unit
To achieve acceptable air quality in an operating theater clean room, there are two main objectives: (1) control of anesthetic gases for the benefit of the operating room staff and (2) infection control for the benefit of the patient.
Supply and purge systems, as well as general ventilation of operating rooms and surgical rooms, must function optimally so that surgical personnel are protected from exposure to anesthetic gases.
Infection control in operating rooms is not generally considered an element of air quality, as numerous studies have shown that most infections come from the patient himself or from the actions/actions of the surgical staff.
Infection control is maintained in air quality by achieving and maintaining control of airborne particulate matter through air filtration and by adhering to the cleanroom particulate matter limits for operating theaters specified in ISO 14644. For operating rooms, this is category 4, which is 10,000 particles per cubic meter of air with a size of 0.1 microns. or more.
